I want to register for THE OPENING PAGE. I understand the registration fee of $550 is refundable if my vacated place is used by a person on the waiting list. I will adhere to the payment schedule that follows upon the confirmation of my registration.

I understand that due to space constraints, spouses and family members other than those who are accompanying me for medical assistance may not be housed at the Inn at Essex unless there is room available following the close of registration.

Additional information:

  • A brief reading list proposed by the guest speakers will be provided upon registration. Participants are strongly encouraged to read everything on the list.
  • At registration there will be an option to suggest and / or sign up for non-facilitated discussion groups on such topics as writing, picture books, teaching, library work, and discussion of books on the suggested reading list. More details on these self-governed groups to follow.
  • Books by guest authors will be on sale during the Colloquy, courtesy of Phoenix Books.
  • The Inn at Essex supplies a van service to and from the Burlington (Vermont) airport.

Children’s Literature New England does not handle the room bookings. For your convenience we provide information below about how to book your own room.

Room fees include meal costs, Thursday dinner through Sunday breakfast, excluding the cost of alcohol, which will be available for purchase independently.

Meal costs for commuters will be assessed separately; prices to follow.

SINGLE ROOM: The Inn at Essex provides a limited number of single rooms with board and bath at $484.60 for three nights, May 8-11. The Inn at Essex will take bookings of single rooms by phone (see below).

DOUBLE ROOM: The Inn at Essex provides a limited number of double rooms with board and bath at $329.28 per person. CLNE will provide lists of people who have requested names of lodgers with whom to share. Please click below as directed if you want to add your name to such a list.
